October Presidents Message

NOTE:  We ask that all members and guests wear a face covering (mask) if you are planning to attend. We would like to avoid any conflict at the meeting, so if you choose to attend and not plan on wearing a mask, you will be asked to leave.

Our next scheduled meeting will be on October 13th at Tower Lanes in Tacoma. Just in case you forgot here is the address 6323 6th Ave Tacoma WA. 98406. (253) 564-8853. Meeting will start at 7:00 PM but feel free to come early and swap fish stories.

The guest speaker will be Dave Schamp from the Hatchery & Wild Coexist organization. Hatchery & Wild Coexist is a group highlighting the importance of fish hatcheries and the role they play in wild fish recovery and providing abundant fisheries.

At the September meeting, member #245 Roe Simmons was drawn and was not present. The next membership drawing will be for $490 at our October meeting. Do not forget that at each monthly meeting, all present and paid members are eligible for the monthly membership drawing for a cash prize of not less than $150 sponsored by John Hager of Southworth Marine. We would like to thank John for continuing to support us during the Covid19 pandemic.

At the September meeting it was announced we are planning to have the Christmas party on Friday, December 3rd. Current plans are for it to be held at the same location Scottish Rite Temple in Tacoma. It was also announced we will be selling $5.00 raffle tickets at the meeting for a Scotty 1106 downrigger to be drawn at the XMAS party and the winner need not be present. It is also time to get those BIG FISH pictures into the club for the drawing at the XMAS party.

We will be voting for directors for the 2022 board at the meeting. We need a President, Vice president and Treasurer. We also need to replace the Membership Chairman and Raffle Chairman. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact me. Remember without the board, the club cannot continue. Being a 501C we are required to have a board of directors. Please contact any one of us if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.
