GIG HARBOR PUGET SOUND ANGLERS PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE JANUARY 2020
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds everyone well and that everyone had a good holiday season. As we start the New Year, I would like to thank Mark Abetz and LeRoy Bell for their service over the last 2 years as Vice President and Secretary.
At the annual Christmas party, the Big Fish drawing went to Scott Douglas and the Volunteer award went to Jeff Stockman. Chris Trembly member #191 was drawn for the membership drawing and was present. The next drawing will be for $150 at our February meeting. Don’t forget that at each monthly meeting, all present and paid members are eligible for the monthly membership drawing for a cash prize of not less than $150 sponsored by John Haggar of Southworth Marine. I would like to extend a special thank you to everyone that volunteered to make the Christmas party a success. The annual Dick Smythe club derby will be held on Saturday, January 11 (daylight to noon) following with the weigh-in and awards ceremony held at the Tides Tavern where we will all enjoy sharing the winner’s prize.
Our next meeting is January 8, 2020 at Tower Lanes in Tacoma (6323 6th Avenue Tacoma, WA 98406). The New Year brings with it the time for our members to renew their membership and pay their annual dues. Our guest speakers for the meeting will be Director Kelly Susewind, David Stormer and Michael Baltzell. We will not have a regular business meeting that night but will have a club raffle time permitting. Volunteers are needed for the January 31st Seattle Boat show. A sign-up sheet will be available at the meeting or contact me if interested.
