We had a good turnout for our first meeting of 2013. Tom Ohaus from Angling Unlimited was our guest speaker with a very informative presentation on mooching for salmon. Tom guides in Sitka, Alaska and had a wonderful slide presentation featuring many fish over 50 pounds. Thank you again Tom, for speaking at our meeting. If you did not make it to our meeting, Tom will be doing his presentation at the upcoming Seattle Boat Show.
Next Month’s speaker will be Tom (TJ) Nelson from the Outdoor Line Radio talk show. Tom will be discussing his Dirty Downrigger Tricks, a presentation you will not want to miss. The meeting on February 12th will be our Annual Awards Banquet and Crab Feed. Dinner will be served at 6:00PM for those who pre-purchased their crab, with the general meeting to follow. We will be awarding plaques for biggest fish caught last year as well as the coveted ‘Golden Carp Award.’
The March 12thmeeting will bring in Nick Kester of All Star Charters, with a presentation on Ling Cod fishing in Puget Sound. Nick knows where they live and how to catch them! Don’t miss this one! Also in March, our Fish Talk table will feature Todd Girtz on deep water Ling Cod rigging.
Our January outing was a cutthroat trout fishing derby in Lake Washington. The winner was Avery Ng with a 2lb 10 oz cutthroat. Congratulations Avery!
Coming up on April 6this the All-PSA Clubs Blackmouth Derby out of Port Townsend. Tickets should be available at the February meeting. Sno-King has won it twice in a row, so let’s get up there and take the trophy this year! As a cost saving measure, we have decided to cancel our subscription to the Reel News; you can still subscribe individually or pick them up at your local tackle shop. We apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully in the future we will be able to bring it back.
