GIG HARBOR PUGET SOUND ANGLERS PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE AUGUST 2020
Our next meeting scheduled for August 5, 2020 has been Canceled. Hopefully by the time of our September 9th meeting, we will be in Phase 3 and can get together.
On Saturday, August 8, 2020 we will have our annual Dick Smythe member only outing. The outing will run from daylight to 1:00 PM. The weigh-in station will be located at Pt. Defiance boathouse and will be staffed from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This outing is in place of our Annual salmon derby which was canceled due to COVID19. We decided to move up the Dick Smythe outing since A11 will be closed to all winter black mouth fishing on November 1, 2020 until next year’s salmon seasons are set. The outing is only open to all current 2020 paid members and family. If your membership dues are not current, please renew on-line or by mail prior to the outing. Memberships dues must be received by August 5 to be eligible to participate. John Hager of Southworth Marine has generously donated $500 for prize money, 1st – $250, 2nd – $150, 3rd – $100. Youth – $50. Sportco of Fife has generously donated gift cards for the mystery weight fish and youth runnerup prize.
There has not been a meeting since the March crab feed, so the jackpot remains at $260. Do not forget that at each monthly meeting, all present and paid members are eligible for the monthly membership drawing for a cash prize of not less than $150 sponsored by John Hager of Southworth Marine.
