GIG HARBOR PUGET SOUND ANGLERS PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE MARCH 2019
March’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Tower Lanes in Tacoma (6323 – 6th Avenue – Tacoma, WA 98406). Tower Lanes will be our new meeting location for future meetings. Our guest speaker will be Tommy Donlin giving a presentation on Chasing Tuna.
Leslie Hunt, Member #98, was drawn for the membership drawing at February’s meeting and was present so the March drawing will be for $150. Thanks to John Hager of Southworth Marine for his support. The drawing is open to all current, paid members and members must be present to win. Just a reminder: All memberships expire as of January 31, 2019.
The next family outing will be April 10 for our Annual crab feed. This dinner will be in place of our monthly meeting and we will not have a guest speaker that evening. There will be a ladies raffle for those in attendance. Crab salads $20 (8oz tub of cleaned and cracked crab) or barbecued ribs $10 will be the choice of dinner options. Barbecue will be provided by Proper British Bacon from Auburn, WA. All dinners must be prepaid.
The 10th annual All PSA derby will be held March 23 & 24 in Anacortes, WA. Tickets are $40 per person. Derby participants must be paid PSA members entered to participate in the derby. We are looking for donations of used or new fishing gear for our upcoming spring swap meet at Pt. Defiance Marina’s annual swap meet. Any equipment that is taking up space in your basement or garage will be gladly accepted. Donations can be brought to the meeting for collection.
There are numerous opportunities for members to volunteer to help with promoting the club at our events. All members who volunteer over the course of the year will have their names entered into a special drawing for a great prize at our Christmas party in December 2019.
