PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
JANUARY 2019
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds everyone well and that everyone had a good holiday season. As we start the New Year I want to thank Chris Tremblay and Jeff Zuniga for all their work on the board last year. I would also like to thank Mark Abetz and LeRoy Bell for staying on for another year of service.
At the annual Christmas party the Big Fish drawing went to Peter Pitman and the Volunteer award went to Jerry Henderson (another downrigger was added to his collection). A special thank you to everyone that volunteered to make the Christmas party a success. The annual Dick Smythe derby was won by Capt. John Keizer and everyone enjoyed sharing his winnings at the Tides Tavern.
The New Year brings with it the time for our members to renew their membership and pay their annual dues. Don’t forget that at each monthly meeting all present and paid members are eligible for the monthly membership drawing for a cash prize of not less than $210 sponsored by John Haggar of Southworth Marine and Maggie Feagin-Schauble of Windermere Real Estate. Our next meeting is January 9, 2019 at the Tacoma Bass Pro Shop and our speaker will be Ted Schuman, Winter Run Guide Service giving a presentation on Steelhead 101.
Volunteers are needed for the January Sportsman’s and Boat show. A sign-up sheet will be available at the meeting. We are still looking for a volunteer for Membership Chairman. Please contact any board member if you are interested in volunteering for this position.
