PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
APRIL 2018
April’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, starting at 7 p.m. at Bass Pro in Tacoma. Our speaker will be Mark Gavin.
Member #244, Mike Mesaros name was drawn for March’s membership drawing and he was not present to win the $460, so April’s drawing will be for $670. Thanks to John Hager of Southworth Marine and Maggie Feagin Schauble of Windermere Real Estate for their support. The drawing is open to all current, paid members and members must be present to win.
Instead of having a club picnic in the late summer or early fall, this year we will be having a club dinner on May 9, 2018 at the Scottish Rite Temple, 817 South Vassault, Tacoma. This is the same location where we had our Christmas Party last December. Attendees will have their choice of a barbeque dinner for $10 or crab dinner for $20. Please RSVP and prepay for your dinner by contacting me (253-370-2230) or Roger Chapman (253-848-1640). You can reserve your spot and pay at the April GHPSA meeting. There will be no tickets available at the door. May 9 is our usual second Wednesday meeting night, and instead of having a meeting at Bass Pro, this event will be in place of the meeting, so bring your family and enjoy the dinner. In addition to our regular monthly raffle there will be a ladies raffle.
Looking ahead to summer, our derby will be Saturday, August 11, 2018. We are in need of volunteers and sponsors. A special thanks to member Pat Leahy of Leahy Law for sponsoring the third place prize. If you are interested in volunteering to help out at the derby or if you or someone you know would like to be a monetary sponsor, please contact any board member.
