GIG HARBOR PUGET SOUND ANGLERS PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE October 2019
October meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Tower Lanes in Tacoma (6323 – 6th Avenue – Tacoma, WA 98406). Our guest speaker will be Jacques White from “Long Live the Kings”. I would like to thank Roger Urbaniak for his presentation on the status of Sockeye salmon and Lake Washington issues. At the October meeting we will be nominating and voting for the 2020 board members.
Richard Kinnaman member #192 was drawn for the membership drawing and was not present. The October drawing will be for $480. Thanks to John Hager of Southworth Marine for his support. The drawing is open to all current, paid members and members must be present to win.
We have started our 2019 Nutrient Enhancement program taking spawned carcasses up the Puyallup watershed. We finished the Chinook spawning on October 2. We have taken up 1547 Chinook carcasses for distribution to the various feeder streams. It will be a few weeks before the Coho are ready. If interested in either the spawning process or distribution of carcasses, please sign up at the meeting or email me.
There are numerous opportunities for members to volunteer to help with promoting the club at our events. All members who volunteer over the course of the year will have their names entered into a special drawing for a Scotty Downrigger at our Christmas party in December 2019.
